Before you decide

Is the software really free?
Yes. Agent Station is open source and MIT licensed. Install it on your own hardware, bring your own API keys, and use it forever at no cost. Cloud is the premium layer — managed inference, the companion app, and updates for $29/mo.
Why would I pay for Cloud if the software is free?
Same reason you'd pay for GitHub Pro when Git is free. Cloud handles API key management, model routing, the companion app, automatic updates, and support. You could do all of that yourself — Cloud saves you the time.
Do I need to be technical?
Not if you buy a hardware kit. Plug it in, connect to Wi-Fi, open the app. No terminal, no code. If you can use an iPhone, you can use The Agent Station.
What's the difference between the Starter Kit and Pro Kit?
The Starter Kit (Raspberry Pi) sends all AI work to cloud APIs — fast, affordable, and more than enough for most agents. The Pro Kit (Mac Mini M4) can run AI models locally on the device itself, which means faster responses and lower ongoing API costs. Both run the same Agent Station software.
Can I install this on hardware I already own?
Yes. The software is free and open source. Install it on any Pi, Mac Mini, NUC, or VPS. Add Cloud for $29/mo when you want the companion app and managed inference.
Is my client data safe?
Your agents run on hardware sitting on your desk, on your network. Client data stays on your device. Nothing is stored on our servers unless you explicitly connect an external service.
